Pyrotic Training

The Pyrotic Element is used to describe effects driven by fire or an extreme source of heat. Fire and laser effects are often linked to a source of Pyrotic energies. The Pyrotic Element can be encountered as an Environmental Hazard such as a pit of lava, flamethrower trap, or laser wall. Investing in a Pyrotic Training will enhance a Character’s Pyrotic Heroic Action Effects, and Damage Resistance against Pyrotic Damage from any source at every Odd Rank and their Attack and Damage Rolls with Weapons that deal Pyrotic Damage and their Critical Damage dealt with any Weapon on Even Ranks. At Rank Five(5) and Ten(10), the Character’s Base Scale with any Weapon increases by plus One(+1), permanently increasing their Weapon Damage with all Weapons.

Burning Affinities

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 1)

As a part of an Interaction, you can apply your Pyrotic Heroic Modifier to any single Drive or Engineering Ability Check. 

Eternal Torch

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 1)

AP Cost: 5

Action Type: Ritual(One Hour)

As a Ritual during a Rest Period, you can manifest your inner flame into a faint hovering wisp that gently floats around you, providing a dim light within a Radius equal to Half(½) of your Passive Perception until your next Rest Period. The Eternal Torch continues to burn under any circumstances for as long as you are alive, even while submerged in dirt or water.

Flash Sweat

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 1)

As a Reaction to suffering the Ignite Condition, you can instantly remove the Ignite Condition from yourself. 

Cauterizing Touch

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 2)

AP Cost: 10

Action Type: Interaction

As a part of an Interaction, you can attempt an Apothicine Ability Check to Administer Treatment or Perform Surgery with your fire-infused bare hands functioning as any required tools for the procedure. 

Flame Resilience

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 2)

AP Cost: 10

Action Type: Reaction

As a Reaction to suffering Pyrotic Damage, you can cut any Pyrotic Damage received in Half(½) before applying any Damage Resistances.

Scorching Palm

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 2)

AP Cost: 10

Action Type: Rapid Action

Range: Adjacent

As a Rapid Action, you can manifest a great deal of heat through an unavoidable open-handed slap against an Adjacent Target, inflicting 1D6 Pyrotic Damage, with each consecutive Scorching Palm against the same Target increasing the Pyrotic Damage by an additional 1D6 each strike. The consecutive bonus count resets if a Target goes an entire Round without being struck by a Scorching Palm. 

Flare Slash

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 3)

AP Cost: 15

Action Type: Melee Weapon Attack

Range: Adjacent

You can attempt a Melee Weapon Attack against an Adjacent Target while wrapping your Melee Weapon in a wreathe of scorching flames as a Standard Action. If successful, your Attack inflicts your normal Weapon Damage as Pyrotic Damage and an additional 1D6 Pyrotic Damage for every Two(2) Points of your Power Attribute to your Target and any Creatures Adjacent to your Target. In addition, affected Targets can attempt a Physical Save against your Attack Roll to cut any Damage in Half(½).

Lava Lance

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 3) & Catalyst (Any Rank)

Action Type: Cast Weapon Attack

Range: Catalyst Range

Effect Duration: Rounds

As a Standard Action, you can attempt a Cast Weapon Attack against a Target within your Effective Catalyst Range by manifesting a glob of molten lava and flinging it at your Target. If successful, your Attack inflicts your normal Weapon Damage as Pyrotic Damage and the Ignite Condition to your Target. Alternatively, you can use Lava Lance to create a single Space of Flames Difficult Terrain for the Effect Duration. Then, the Target can attempt at Physical Save against your Attack Roll to Negate the Condition.

Thaw

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 3)

AP Cost: 15

Action Type: Full Action

As a Full Action, you can remove the Chilled or Frozen Condition from an Adjacent Target. Alternatively, You can use Thaw to clear ice from any structure as a part of Exploring.

Backdraft

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 4)

AP Cost: 20

Action Type: Move Action

Range: Double(2*) Speed

As a Move Action, you create a concussive burst of heat that propels you in a straight line in any direction up to Twice(2) your Speed away while ignoring any gaps or Difficult Terrain during your Path of Travel.

Boiling Blood

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 4)

AP Cost: 20

Action Type: Reaction

As a Reaction to inflicting normal Weapon Damage as a part of a Weapon Attack, you can impose your Minimum Weapon Damage to yourself as Pyrotic Damage to increase your successful Attack’s Weapon Damage to Maximum Damage.

Molten Bolas

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 4)

AP Cost: 20

Action Type: Ranged Weapon Attack

Range: Thrown Weapon Range

Effect Duration: Rounds

As a Standard Action, you can attempt a Ranged Weapon Attack against a Target within your Thrown Weapon Range by manifesting a chain of fire that traps your Target. If successful, your Attack inflicts your normal Weapon Damage as Pyrotic Damage, and your Target is knocked Prone and suffers the Entangled Condition for the Effect Duration. In addition, the Target can attempt an Athletics or Engineering Ability Check against your Attack Roll to break their restraints. Failing an attempt inflicts your Minimum Damage as Pyrotic Damage to your Target. 

Combustion

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 5)

Range: Adjacent

As a Standard Action, you can unleash a powerful burst of fire at an Adjacent Target, inflicting 1D8 Pyrotic Damage for every Two(2) Points of your Focus Attribute and the Ignite Condition. The Target can attempt a Physical Save against your Force Impact to cut any Damage in Half(½) and Negate the Condition. 

Pyrotic Body

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 5)

As a Reaction to suffering Pyrotic Damage, you can Negate a single Source of Pyrotic Damage against you this Turn. 

Quell Flames

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 5)

AP Cost: 25

Action Type: Move Action

Range: Line Of Sight

As a Move Action, release a pulse of extinguishing force that eliminates all Flames Difficult Terrain within your Line of Sight and extinguishes any open flame light sources. 

Hearth Keeper

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 6)

AP Cost: 30

Action Type: Ritual(One Hour) 

As a Ritual during a Rest Period, you can spend One(1) Hour tending to the heating needs of your Company. Then, for the remainder of your Rest Period, your Comrades restore Twice(2*) as many Hit Points and Action Points from Resting and can apply your Pyrotic Heroic Modifier to any Ability Check made to Craft. 

Melt Metal

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 6)

AP Cost: 30

Action Type: Standard Action

Range: Adjacent

Effect Duration: Rounds

As a Standard Action, you can touch an Adjacent Metal Object to superheat it for the Effect Duration, causing any Creatures that come in contact with the Object to suffer 1D6 Pyrotic Damage for every Point of your Focus Attribute, dropping the Object to the ground. Alternatively, Targeting a Metal Armor or Mechanical Creature burn the Target for an iteration of Pyrotic Damage each Turn for the Effect Duration. Finally, creatures Adjacent to your Target can attempt a contested Maneuver to prevent you from heating an object. 

Drought

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 7)

Action Type: Full Action

Range: Focus Attribute(Radius)

Effect Duration: Minutes

As a Full Action, you can actively raise the atmospheric temperature in a Radius around you equal to your Focus Attribute for the Effect Duration, rapidly evaporating liquids, altering Terrain, and granting all Targets within the Affected Area Immunity to the Soaked and Chilled Conditions. In addition, any Cryonic Damage suffered within the Affected Area is Automatically reduced to Minimum Damage.

Pyre Column

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 7) & Catalyst (Any Rank)

AP Cost: 35

Action Type: Standard Action

Range: Catalyst Range/Half(½) Focus Attribute(Radius)

Effect Duration: Rounds

As a Standard Action, you can utilize your Æthercite Catalyst to manifest a swirling column of searing flames at any Space within your Effective Catalyst Range. The column burns everything within your Targeted Space, and any Spaces Adjacent to it for 1D8 Pyrotic Damage for every Point of your Focus Attribute up to a height equal to Half(½) of your Focus Attribute while inflicting the Ignite Condition and converting the Affected area to the Flames Difficult Terrain for the Effect Duration. Affected Targets can attempt a Physical Save against your Force Impact to cut any Damage in Half(½) and Negate the Condition.  

Whispering Flames

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 8)

Action Type: Ritual(One)

As a Ritual during a Rest Period, you can attempt an Arcana Ability Check to spend One(1) Hour peering into the flames to Scry on a Target, gaining information in the form of interpretable visions, images, or thoughts about the Target’s past, present, or future. 

Drakkenatem

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 8)

Action Type: Full Action

Range: Self/Two(2) Pace (Cone)

Effect Duration: Rounds

As a Full Action, you can attempt a Force Impact to inhale deeply, storing within you a powerful flaming breath that persists for the Effect Duration. Once per Turn as a Rapid Action, you can unleash a gout of flames from your mouth to burn any Targets within a Cone in a Range of up to Two(2) Paces for 1D8 Pyrotic Damage for every Two(2) Points of your Focus Attribute. Affected Targets can attempt a Physical Save against your Force Impact to cut any Damage in Half(½). 

Volcano Lariat

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 9) & Any Melee (Any Rank)

AP Cost: 45

Action Type: Melee Weapon Attack

Range: Half(½) Speed

As a Standard Action, you can attempt a Melee Weapon Attack against any Target within a Range equal to Half(½) of your Speed Attribute by dashing towards your Target, leaving a trail of Flames Difficult Terrain in your wake. If successful, in addition to normal Weapon Damage, your Target suffers 1D10 Pyrotic Damage for every Two(2) Points of your Power Attribute and is inflicted with the Ignited Condition. The Target can attempt a Physical Save against your Attack Roll to cut any Damage in Half(½) and Negate the Condition. 

Torchflight

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 9)

AP Cost: 45

Action Type: Ritual(One Hour)

As a Ritual during a Rest Period, you can focus on passively exerting Pyrotic energies through your feet and hands to maintain the Flight Enhancement, allowing you to Fly in any direction up to your Speed until your next Rest Period.

Eruption

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 10)

AP Cost: 50

Action Type: Full Action

Range: Half(½) Power Attribute(Radius)

As a Full Action, you can channel and harness your inner rage to unleash a powerful Eruption of Pyrotic force from your body, incinerating Targets within a Radius equal to Half(½) of your Power Attribute for 1D10 Crush and 1D10 Pyrotic Damage for every Two(2) Points of your Power Attribute. Any Creatures Killed by the blast are burned to ashes, leaving behind no remains. In addition, any Objects, Items, or structures made of wood, linen, or water within the Affected Area are instantly destroyed by the blast. 

Pyroclasm

Prerequisite: Pyrotic (Rank 10)

AP Cost: 50

Action Type: Full Action

Range: Focus Attribute(Line)/Half(½) Focus Attribute(Radius)

As a Full Action, you can manifest a chaotic orb of roaring flames, launching it in a straight line in a Range equal to your Focus Attribute, exploding at the first Target or surface reached, inflicting 1D10 Pyrotic Damage for every Point of your Focus Attribute to any Target within a Radius equal to Half(½) of your Focus Attribute and the Ignite Condition. Affected Targets can attempt a Physical Save against your Force Impact to cut any Damage in Half(½) and Negate the Condition. Targets that are Adjacent to the Point of Impact are not afforded an attempt to Save.
